Architect Reima Pietilä (1923-1993) is an exceptional figure in Finnish and international architecture, renowned for his significant architectural production and his theoretical-philosophical writings as well as his educational work. The centennial of his birth presents a unique opportunity for new studies on his complex and sometimes controversial legacy.

’Novembre Nordico’ is an ideal occasion to explore his Italian connections using material from his personal archive in Helsinki and from several Italian archives such as the Bruno Zevi Foundation and the Archivio Progetti IUAV in Venice. In this seminar, three scholars will discuss diverse perspectives on his work and writings with the aim of delineating and mapping Pietilä’s relational geography.
