Christina, Regina – An evening with the Queen

Christina, Queen of Sweden (1626-1689), the daughter of Gustav II Adolf, is a fascinating character. She was born into a world ruled by men, inherited a grand empire as a child, became a sovereign ruler and protestant queen, turned to Catholicism, abdicated the throne and finally moved to Rome where she spent the rest of her life.

The evening begins with a lecture: Christina – queen and human by Kirsi Vainio-Korhonen, professor of Finnish History at Turku University. The second act of the evening is Christina, Regina, a dance performance by soloist dance artist Tuuli-Maaria Louhensalo-Lindström, widely known for her strong interpretations of exceptional women.

Christina was strongly influenced by philosopher René Descartes on the stage interpreted by Dr. Mikael Korhonen, who will also leave his mark on the performance.

Baroc, contemporary and modern music will carry and illustrate the stages of Christina’s life. Choreography by Tuuli-Maaria Louhensalo-Lindström.

The event is fully booked.
